- Shakespeare, The Tempest -
It was important to us to have both the exterior and interior harmonize with the surroundings and the environment. We wanted a construction that is modern but simple, down-to-earth and built for a purpose, and asked ourselves: What type of layout is essential, how much space do we need? Which choice of materials and which design really makes sense? What makes life pleasant and enjoyable?
Stable and barn follow the same principles – made of wood with a basic, unassuming design.
Stone, wood and glass
The apartment is fully furnished; simple, bright and friendly.
It takes up the entire ground floor, and will accommodate two people; we live on the floor above.
There’s a living room with an open kitchen, a bedroom, bathroom and a small entrance area, and an outside sauna. Inside, there’s nothing between you, the balcony and the mountains but the glass front.
No matter how cold it gets outside – the large central soapstone fireplace always keeps everyone warm.
Things not to worry about
We will provide you with bedding, towels, organic shower-gel/shampoo/soap (we want to keep our biological sewage treatment system happy). Also oil, vinegar, some basic herbs and spices for cooking, and everything you need for a decent breakfast.
There is Radio and a CD-player, but no television. Sauna is available.
We will supply you with fresh bread and the desired newspaper. You will be picked up and dropped off on arrival and departure; we will help with the baggage, and make sure the fireplace and sauna are warm in winter.
